How the program works

The “Freedom to Leave” Intensive

The “Freedom to Leave” Intensive is a 12-week, individualized coaching program for dogs who panic or struggle when left alone. You will follow short, carefully paced absence exercises at home, share video and progress, and meet weekly for coaching as the plan is adjusted to your dog's comfort level. The goal is steady, humane progress that helps your dog feel safer alone and helps you leave home with greater confidence.

Personalized 1:1 Coaching

Weekly guidance focused on your dog, your routine, and the barriers you are facing.

Step-by-Step Protocol

Short practice absences begin below your dog's panic threshold and build gradually.

Real-Time Adjustments

Video and progress notes show us when to advance, repeat, or simplify the plan.

Ongoing Support

Questions, setbacks, and schedule changes are addressed throughout the 12 weeks.

Common Questions

Answers to help you feel confident taking the next step.

How long does the program take?

No honest program can promise one timeline for every dog. The “Freedom to Leave” Intensive includes 12 weeks of coaching so your plan has room to move at your dog's pace. Some dogs show meaningful changes earlier, but durable progress depends on the severity of the anxiety, your dog's learning history, health, daily schedule, and how consistently the plan can be followed.

Is this program right for every dog?

The program is designed for dogs whose distress is connected to being alone or separated from their people. During the assessment, we review your dog's history, behavior, schedule, home environment, safety risks, and relevant health factors. If the behavior points to another issue or your dog needs a different level of care, we will tell you clearly and recommend an appropriate next step.

What makes Away Okay different?

Away Okay provides individualized 1:1 coaching instead of a generic training plan. We use humane, evidence-based methods, review what your dog does when alone, and adjust the plan around your dog's current comfort level. Remote coaching lets us work in the home environment where the problem actually happens, while giving you clear guidance and ongoing support.

Will I be supported between sessions?

Yes. Separation anxiety work depends on regular observation and adjustment, so support is not limited to scheduled coaching calls. You can share progress, questions, and relevant training notes through the agreed support channel, and we use that information to refine your next steps. We will explain communication expectations and response times before you begin.
